Now the challenge was given to me early in the evening so i didn’t have much time left that day, and despite the fact that i told my sister about something of that nature happening earlier the very same day (i did help an old lady to pick up her suitcase off the ground when it accidently fell down and she was struggling to bend her knees to reach it). As selfless as it is it didn’t count - her game, her rules. Well the task itself is not that hard to be fair, cause i do things for other people, not seeking benefit on a daily basis (at least i tend to think so). But my brain always overthinks everything and i made the task harder for myself than it actually was. Now think for a minute if I would go out there right now looking for a person in need and help him/her only because my sister challenged me and I want to cross it off the list, wouldn’t it be selfish? Even if on a rainy day that it was I would’ve given my umbrella away to a homeless person, that would benefit me as i would've completed my task.
So eventually i got home with all that mess in my head and i found my housemate laying on the sofa all exhausted and suffering with a sore throat and an instinct hit me straight away that she needs to be looked after. Now i know all of you would probably think that making a cup of tea is not that big of a deal but I’ve offered one, with no intentions to benefit from the action. In my opinion it counts as a selfless deed and surprisingly my sister agreed too. Hooray 1st day challenge done and done!
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
